Volunteering at the Marylebone Project

Volunteers play an important role in the work we do at the Marylebone Project and mean that we can offer a variety of activities and increased support to the women we work with. Volunteering is a great chance to make use of your skills and gain experience whilst giving something back to the community.

"Since I have started volunteering, when people ask me how I am, I don't just say 'I'm fine', I also say 'I'm happy'" - Time for God Volunteer

How to Apply

Please note that due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, the Marylebone Project has suspended in-person volunteering temporarily. However, we still welcome applications for all our volunteering opportunities! Some of our activities can be delivered virtually at the current time, and others will begin once it is safe and appropriate to resume our volunteering programme.

Individual Volunteers

To apply for any of our volunteering opportunities, please complete a Volunteer Application Form and e-mail it to volunteer@maryleboneproject.org.uk.

We're regularly developing new opportunities for volunteers to get involved. If you don't see anything that's right for you this time, check back in a couple of weeks or submit a general application and we'll do our best to match you with a volunteering opportunity. Similarly, if you have a skill not listed here that you think could positively impact our service users or the Marylebone Project, please complete an application form to let us know!

Current Volunteering Opportunities

The following volunteering opportunities are available at the Marylebone Project. To help us ensure the safety of the women we support, many of these roles are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) check and receipt of two satisfactory references. We hope that applicants for our volunteering opportunities will be able to volunteer with us for at least three months, as this ensures volunteers get the most out of their experience and minimises disruption.

Green Space Planting - Group Volunteering Opportunity

The Marylebone Project is delighted to have opened our newly renovated Day Centre for women experiencing homelessness. Whilst our ladies can now access our rough sleepers' drop-in and programme of meaningful activities at the Centre, we are hoping to transform the small patch of green space outside to create a calm and welcoming entrance to the building. To help us achieve this, we're looking for a group of 4-6 volunteers to spend half a day replanting our green space, which separates the tranquility of the Marylebone Centre from the bustle of the main road. We already have the plants and topsoil, we just need volunteers to help us plant them!

Could you and your colleagues or friends help us with this? If so, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator via email at volunteer@maryleboneproject.org.uk.
